![]() With some additional pieces I want to make extra wall sections to make the courtyard larger and to give the buildings more breathing space (a point that was also raised by Razgamaziel below). I consider these issues to be only minor as I am intending to modify things anyway, but it might be good to know for anyone who wants to build these two MOCs with the aim to combine them. 2) Even if I were to remove the aforementioned window sill, then I would still have problems with a roof ornament of the gate which collides with the bay window on the upper level of the keep. ![]() If I look carefully, then I don't see the presence of that window sill in your overview picture. This, however, prevents me from connecting the gate and the keep with using the clip as shown in your overview picture on Bricksafe. However, I had two difficulties in doing so: 1) In steps 202-205 a "window sill" (on which a spear rests) is being constructed. I don't consider myself a good MOC builder so your designs form a nice starting point for me! Thanks for that! It is nice that the keep and the gate can be combined into a larger structure. Initially, I thought each of the builds would be finished in a single weekend, but it actually took me twice as long! I left out most of the foliage for the moment as I intend on making some modifications myself. It surprised me how long it took me to complete these builds. I am only posting a comment and photo's under this page in order to avoid spamming/cross posting. I just finished the Medieval Castle Keep (MOC-118869) together with the accompanying Medieval Castle Gate (MOC-114472). Few more pics of the final result: That orange tile was replaced, it triggered some OCD reactions during the original build haha: I've also redesigned some walls so now our tenant of the prison cell has a bit more room: Stairs redesigned: Sorry for the long comment, but I had to share the effort :P Once again, thanks a lot for the amazing MOC and the whole series of medieval MOCs! To make up for used 1xN tiles, I've replaced some of those 1圆 reddish brown tiles on the top floor with unused 1xN and 2xN plates of the same color. The final result you can see below is using 1x2 bricks with studs on the side which are connected with the back of 1x1 bricks with headlight and slot Connected: As you can see, this storage on the left and the balcony are also detachable. I wasn't satisfied how it looked when using ( technic pins + bricks with holes) or ( plates with "towball" + plates with center "cup") combinations. The biggest challenge was to integrate "hinge" bricks since the storage room with the balcony (left part of the front-facing build) was attached to the rest of the keep both below and above the ground floor level. I couldn't find a way to use remaining arches or other bricks so the next step was to try and make it completely detachable from the basement. While building the ground floor, it felt like it's missing more support from the level below (basement). ![]() In the process, few leftovers (extra parts) I have from other sets were also used, mostly 1x1 plates and tiles in grey and reddish brown. Great build! After few "iterations", I was able to improve few things to make the final result more compact and more easy to transport and play with. Hope you will enjoy this MOC! - Mocscout made a great German review video of this MOC: The wall extension and various clips can be used to connect this MOC to my Medieval Castle Gate MOC. The Keep can be displayed as an individual build or can be combined with the Medieval Castle Gate MOC. The MOC is part 2 of a larger Medieval Castle. The first floor can be accessed by removing the roof and the whole floor can be taken off. Next to this Keep, the MOC includes instructions for a wagon and a wall extension. The main hall has a fire place that lights up, a kitchen and gives access to the first floor and guard post. The raised ground level can be accessed by going up the outdoor stairs. The keep is build on top of a small spring. This design can be build using only pieces from those two sets (including spare parts). The Medieval Castle Keep MOC is an alternate combining Lego set 31120 - Medieval Castle and set 21325 - Medieval Blacksmith.
